Professor Geoffrey Wood is Dean and Professor of International Business at Essex Business School. He has been Professor of International Business at the Business School of the University of Warwick in the UK, Professor and Associate Dean at the School of Management at the University of Sheffield in the UK, Professor and Research Director at the Business School of Middlesex University in the UK. B., and Associate Professor at Rhodes University in South Africa. He holds Visiting Professorships at Cranfield University in the United Kingdom, Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand, American University in Cairo, Egypt, Cornell University in the United States, and Rhodes, Witwatersrand and Nelson Mandela Universities. His research interests focus on the relationship between institutional setting, corporate governance, corporate finance, and corporate-level employment relationships. He has authored seventeen scientific books and published one hundred and seventy-five papers which have received more than 5,700 citations. Of these papers, 16 are published in journals with a 4 * rating on the ABS list and 33 in journals with a 3 * rating on the ABS list.

Geoffrey Wood is a member of the UK Academy of Social Sciences and a member of the British Academy of Management (BAM). He is the Editor in Chief of the British Journal of Management, which is the official scientific journal of the British Academy of Business Administration (BAM). He is also the Associate Editor of the Academy of Management Perspectives journal, published by the US Academy of Business Administration, and the Annals of Corporate Governance. Finally, he is the publisher of the Chartered ABS Journal Ranking list, and a member of the ABDC Journal Guide Evaluation Committee.

Geoffrey Wood has received numerous research grants, from various funding committees (eg ESRC), from government agencies (eg US and UK Departments of Labor), from charities (eg Nuffield Foundation), by trade unions (eg ITF) and by the European Union.
