Ο κ. Παπαδόπουλος Θ. Χρυσολέων είναι Καθηγητής του Τμήματος Οικονομικών Επιστημών του Α.Π.Θ. στον Τομέα Διοίκησης των Επιχειρήσεων από τον Δεκέμβριο 2004. Έχει δημοσιεύσει εργασίες σε διεθνή περιοδικά και Συνέδρια και 2 βιβλία στα Αγγλικά (Chapman & Hall, 1993 and Springer, 2009) και 1 βιβλίο στα Ελληνικά (Εκδόσεις `σοφία’). Είναι Βοηθός Εκδότη του Διεθνούς Περιοδικού Flexible Services and Manufacturing, μέλος της Συντακτικής Επιτροπής γνωστών διεθνών περιοδικών στο αντικείμενο της Διοίκησης Παραγωγής / Επιχειρησιακών Λειτουργιών (IJPR, CAIE) και συν-εκδότης ειδικών τόμων (ANOR, IIE Transactions, IJPR) με διακεκριμένους ερευνητές της Ελλάδας και του εξωτερικού στην ερευνητική περιοχή `Στοχαστικά Υποδείγματα Βιομηχανικών Συστημάτων και Λειτουργιών Υπηρεσιών’. Έχει υπάρξει ιδρυτής και διευθυντής των μεταπτυχιακών προγραμμάτων ΜΒΑ και Διοίκησης Logistics των Πανεπιστημίων Αιγαίου και ΑΠΘ, αντίστοιχα. Διετέλεσε Πρόεδρος του Τμήματος Διοίκησης Επιχειρήσεων του Πανεπιστημίου Αιγαίου (1999-2001) και του Τμήματος Οικονομικών Επιστημών του ΑΠΘ (2005-2009). Ήταν επισκέπτης καθηγητής του Πανεπιστημίου Πειραιώς για 17 χρόνια στο μεταπτυχιακό πρόγραμμα στη Διοίκηση Logistics. Είναι ο ιδρυτής και Διοργανωτής των 5 πρώτων διεθνών συνεδρίων στην περιοχή `Stochastic Models of Manufacturing and Service Operations’. Εργάστηκε επίσης για πενταετία ως Διευθυντής Logistics και Εφοδιαστικής Αλυσίδας στην Αμερικανική πολυεθνική εταιρεία Η/Υ Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) Hellas (τώρα Hewllett-Packard (hp) Hellas). Διετέλεσε σύμβουλος επιχειρήσεων και επιστημονικός υπεύθυνος ερευνητικών προγραμμάτων.

University College Galway, UCG) της Ιρλανδίας (1987-1988). Επίσης ο κ. Παπαδόπουλος πήρε υποτροφία από το Ι.Κ.Υ. για την καλή σειρά επιτυχίας (έκτος) στο Μαθηματικό Τμήμα του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης (1977). Τέλος, για τις γυμνασιακές του σπουδές έλαβε υποτροφίες από τον Δήμο Θεσσαλονίκης λόγω αριστεύσεως.

ΟΡΓΑΝΩΣΗ ΔΙΕΘΝΩΝ ΣΥΝΕΔΡΙΩΝ
Διοργανωτής και Πρόεδρος Πέντε Διεθνών Συνεδρίων, τον Μάιο 1997 (στη Σάμο), τον Μάιο 1999 και Μάιο 2001 (στην Τήνο), τον Ιούλιο 2003 (στη Σάμο) και τον Μάιο 2005 στη Ζάκυνθο, με θέματα: ``Performance Evaluation and Optimization of Production Lines’’, ``Analysis and Modeling of Manufacturing Systems’’, ``Design and Analysis of Manufacturing Systems’’, και ``Analysis of Manufacturing Systems’’, αντίστοιχα. Τα συνέδρια αυτά είχαν μεγάλη επιτυχία και συμμετοχή πολλών συνέδρων (70 – 200) από την Ελλάδα και (κυρίως) το εξωτερικό (Αμερικανικά και Ευρωπαικά Πανεπιστήμια και όχι μόνον). Τα συνέδρια αυτά χρηματοδοτήθηκαν κυρίως από χορηγούς Ελληνικές εταιρίες, τοπικούς φορείς, Υπουργεία και το Πανεπιστήμιο Αιγαίου. Έχει καθιερωθεί ως θεσμός η διοργάνωση των Συνεδρίων αυτών με τίτλο ``Stochastic Models of Manufacturing and Service Operations (SMMSO)'' κάθε δύο χρόνια και σκοπός τους είναι να φέρει σε επικοινωνία ερευνητές από όλον τον κόσμο (στο χώρο της διοίκησης παραγωγής, Επιχειρησιακής Έρευνας/Ποσοτικών Μεθόδων και συστημάτων εφοδιασμού) αλλά και στελέχη επιχειρήσεων και εργοστασίων για τη σύνδεση της έρευνας και εκπαίδευσης με την παραγωγή (των Πανεπιστημίων με τις Επιχειρήσεις). Οι εργασίες των Συνεδρίων δημοσιεύονται σε Πρακτικά που μοιράζονται τις ημέρες των Συνεδρίων και στη συνέχεια επιλεγμένες μόνον εργασίες (μετά από αυστηρή διαδικασία κρίσεως από δύο/τρεις κριτές) δημοσιεύονται σε αναγνωρισμένα διεθνή περιοδικά (Annals of Operations Research, OR Spectrum, IIE Transactions) ή σε βιβλία διεθνών εκδοτικών οίκων (Kluwer Academic Publishers/νυν Springer). Το τελευταίο συνέδριο SMMSO XII, διοργανώθηκε 9-14 Ιουνίου 2019 στη Γερμανία, Goslar. ⦁ Διοργανωτής και Πρόεδρος του 30ου Διεθνούς Συνεδρίου του Διεθνούς Περιοδικού: ``Computers & Industrial Engineering’’, τον Ιούνιο/Ioύλιο 2002 (στην Τήνο). Οι εργασίες του Συνεδρίου αυτού δημοσιεύθηκαν σε Πρακτικά Δύο Τόμων και 11 επιλεγμένες μόνον εργασίες (μετά από διαδικασία κρίσεως από δύο/τρεις κριτές) δημοσιεύθηκαν σε Ειδική Έκδοση του Διεθνούς Περιοδικού ``Computers & Industrial Engineering΄΄ το 2004.
⦁ Επίσης συν-διοργάνωσε το 10th Toulon-Verona Conference in Services Management, Thessaloniki, Department of Economics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, September 2007.
ΣΥΜΜΕΤΟΧΗ ΣΕ ΕΡΕΥΝΗΤΙΚΑ ΚΑΙ ΑΛΛΑ ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑΤΑ
⦁ Ένα ερευνητικό πρόγραμμα με την Ηλεκτρική Εταιρεία της Ιρλανδίας.
⦁ Διάφορα projects πάνω στην Αξιοπιστία των Ηλεκτρονικών Συστημάτων και της Φιλοσοφίας Just-In-Time (JIT) στο εργοστάσιο της Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) Ιρλανδίας στο Galway.
⦁ Factory-of-the-Future (FOF): Ένα Ευρωπαικό Ερευνητικό πρόγραμμα. Απ'αυτό το project χρηματοδοτήθηκε η συγγραφή του βιβλίου με τίτλο: ``Queueing theory in manufacturing systems analysis and design'', Chapman and Hall (στη συνέχεια Kluwer Academic Publishers), 1993.
⦁ Ένα ερευνητικό πρόγραμμα που χρηματοδοτήθηκε από την Επιτροπή Ερευνών του Πανεπιστημίου του Αιγαίου με τίτλο: ``Σύστημα Διαχείρισης Μοντέλων στο σχεδιασμό και τη λειτουργία των συστημάτων παραγωγής''.
⦁ Υπεύθυνος Διαχείρισης ενός προγράμματος που χρηματοδοτήθηκε από το Υπουργείο Αιγαίου με θέμα την ίδρυση ενός Ινστιτούτου Αμυντικού Σχεδιασμού και Στρατηγικών μελετών του Αιγαίου.
⦁ Συμμετέχων (από τον Νοέμβριο 1995 έως τον Δεκέμβριο 2000) ως Διευθυντής ενός πακέτου εργασίας (υπεύθυνος για το Πανεπιστήμιο Αιγαίου) του έργου ΕΚΒΑΝ-Π με τίτλο: ``Επί τόπου μετρήσεις ηλεκτρομαγνητικού πεδίου για τηλεπικοινωνιακές και βιομηχανικές εφαρμογές''. Το πρόγραμμα αυτό χρηματοδοτήθηκε από την Ευρωπαική Ένωση μέσω της Γενικής Γραμματείας Έρευνας και Τεχνολογίας (ΓΓΕΤ).
⦁ Επιστημονικός Υπεύθυνος (Εισηγητής της Πρότασης) του προγράμματος ``Πρακτική Άσκηση Φοιτητών του Μαθηματικού Τμήματος του Παν/μιου Αιγαίου''. Το πρόγραμμα αυτό χρηματοδοτήθηκε από την Ευρωπαική Ένωση μέσω του ΥΠΕΠΘ (πρόγραμμα ΕΠΕΑΕΚ).
⦁ Επιστημονικός Υπεύθυνος ενός ερευνητικού προγράμματος ``ΘΑΛΗΣ``, με τίτλο: ``Analysis of Supply and Production Systems: An Integrated Approach (ASPASIA)’’ (Principal Investigator, PI/Scientific Co-ordinator: Papadopoulos T. Chrissoleon). Η πρόταση εγκρίθηκε και χρηματοδοτήθηκε με 599.150 Ευρώ (2012-2015) από την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση μέσω του Ελληνικού Υπουργείου Παιδείας, Δια Βίου Μάθησης και Θρησκευμάτων. Στο πρόγραμμα συμμετείχαν 4 Ελληνικά Πανεπιστήμια και ένα Ευρωπαικό, το University of Limerick, Prof. Cathal Heavey. Συνολικά συμμετείχαν 33 ερευνητές (Καθηγητές Πανεπιστημίων, Μεταπτυχιακοί φοιτητές Μάστερ και Διδακτορικοί φοιτητές).

Σε επτά (7) Πανεπιστήμια, ο Καθηγητής Χρυσολέων Θ.
